Here's some local history of interest:
The Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889 lured the first settlers to the Moore area. The construction of the
Oklahoma Railway in 1913 brought additional homesteaders, and the community thrived.
By 1930 Moore had extended, past the original railroad tracks, to today's Telephone Road. The townsite steadily expanded as the population grew.
Today's population is estimated at 44,000 residents. Moore, located just south of Oklahoma City, has easy access to the metropolitan area and lies 10 miles from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Moore is the home of the Hillsdale Baptist College and the Moore-Norman Vo-Tech School.
